Statement of Faith

SCRIPTURES

We believe that the Holy Bible, made up of the 39 books of the Old Testament and 27 books of the New Testament, as originally written in Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek, to be the God-Breathed revelation of God. It carries the full authority of God’s will and all other authorities, whether ecclesiastical, creedal or others, are subject to its authority. It is the sole infallible rule of faith for the Christian.

GOD

We believe that God is a Spirit, infinite, eternal, and unchangeable in His being, wisdom, power, holiness, justice, goodness, and truth. God is fully omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent, and nothing comes to pass in time and history outside of His decree. Everything that is made was to His glory. God is one being with three persons, Father, Son & Holy Spirit, all are co-equal in nature but distinct in persons who share in this being which is described by the term “Trinity”.

SALVATION

We believe that man was created in the image of God, but that humanity rebelled in Adam against His Creator, and fell into sin. God, by His grace and mercy sent His true Son to die a sinner’s death on their behalf so that they might be reconciled to Him and saved from His judgment. We believe that He arose from the dead and today is seated at the right hand of the Father interceding on behalf of those for whom He offered the sacrifice. This salvation must be received by man by faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the only means to be made right with God.

THE CHURCH

We believe Jesus Christ established His Church as an obedient bride, and all who believe in Christ are placed in His body, the Church. Where there is a local expression of the Church in our communities, each believer should be actively involved in such a fellowship. The offices of Elder and deacons should be clearly established. The church is responsible to preach the good news of Jesus Christ, to worship, partake of the Lord’s Supper, baptize, disciple and be a voice of righteousness and holiness to the nations.

THE FUTURE

We believe Christ will come again visibly to judge the living and the dead. He will at that time raise both the righteousness and the wicked from their graves with the righteous receiving eternal life while the unrighteous eternal damnation. At His return, He will usher in the New Heavens & New Earth.
